After actively working in the bicycle business for the past twenty five plus years, I can honestly say this is the best crew I've ever had the privilege of working with. When you step inside our doors we'll do our best to make you feel welcome, answer your questions, and assist you with making the best decision possible based on you desires and dreams. All of our staff remember the first bike shop they visited, their first bike, and their first ride.
Our goal is to work hard, show respect to all, and always be honest, and considerate with each and every customer who visits us. That's our promise and commitment to you.
P.S.- For those of you wondering if we pay our amazing staff a "Living Wage" like "the other guys" recently announced, the answer is yes, we actually exceed it!
The BMan has been a dreamer/builder all of his life. He dreamed of a house to raise his family in, and then he built it. He dreamed of opening a bike shop in the 90's...and he did it. My older, and much smarter brother gave me great advice years ago. He said, "find something you love to do and then see if you can make a go of it." Thanks for the great advice Dennis!
Zach is the glue that holds Giant Halifax together. He is widely recognized in the Maritime cycling community as a racer, a BNS executive, and a commuter. He's great with customers, and can do absolutely anything that needs to be done in the shop. His knowledge, experience, friendliness, and commitment to all customers puts him in a league all of his own.
In the bike world, techs are scored on quality, consistency, and a focus of making every bike work as well as it is humanly possible to. Based on Scotts history, and the twenty plus years of experience he has in his pocket when he comes to work each day, he is one of the four guys in Metro we have under one roof that you want dialing in your bike.
Ok, so what is a "Multi-Man?" A "Multi-Man" is a shop employee all shops dream of finding. They can help customers looking for assistance with both product knowledge, and repair. Guy has so much experience in both Road, Fat bikes and MTB, and because he is soft spoken and polite, he is a magnet that all our customers feel drawn toward. Guy is amazing, ask for him!
SHOP SUPER TECH #2
Shawn is the newest member of our team, and brings with him years of tech and small business owner experience and knowledge. He and his wife Keli, are the founding members of the City of Lakes Cycling Club, and with their young family are active in many outdoor sports. Thanks for joining our team Shawn, we're thrilled to have you aboard!
The BMan admires and respects ambition, hard work, and education. Evan works full time at our shop, as well as somehow managing to be a full time student at Dal. This young man is friendly, cares for everybody, and is light years ahead of anybody his age with "Bike Biz" knowledge. If you're looking for helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable service, you should ask for Evan.
When GBH first opened our doors, Rob provided us with instant credibility in our service department. He is one of the first "Barnett Certified" techs to ever work the Maritimes and although he now operates his own business as a massage therapist, he has maintained a never ending love for bikes, both riding and fixing them, and is known as our go-to suspension guy.
Every successful team needs a mix of serious, fun, and caring individuals. If this is achieved, you create a wonderfully delicious serving for your customers. Kyle is the fun guy, the guy everybody wants to work with, and all customers want to deal with. Kyle rides road, cross, and commutes, and loves to assist customers who are excited about entering the sport of cycling.
OK, so during the day, Jeremy works his magic with his fingers tapping away on keyboards in the IT business. But after a hard day at the office, does he head to the bars? No, he escapes to Giant Bicycle Halifax, and does what he loves to do. That is helping people get excited, get fit, and get dialed into the bike world. Jeremy is amazing, just like all of our staff. You should ask for him!
